What’s Buzzing in WordPress 💖
- Big Updates… the next generation of Autonami’s Automation Builder has announced 15 prominent features including pre-built recipes, a new canvas builder, and full-screen mode. The Nexter Theme has received a big update in version 2 with features like duplicate post or page, Adobe font kit integration, and local Google Fonts. Also, Neve Theme 3.3 ‘Corvin’ update has added new features along with new expert starter sites which are complex and loaded for niches.
- This is Interesting… for creators using WordPress wanting to set up subscriber-only paid access to the content with the upcoming ‘Interoperable Subscriber Groups on Facebook’. It seems the MemberPress plugin is the first (and only?) WordPress plugin to partner with Facebook for such feature that bridges a WordPress website with private groups on Facebook.
- Useful Updates… a customer ordering on a WordPress website and receiving an SMS or WhatsApp notification to track the delivery, now this is possible with the latest update of the Orderable plugin. Also, Instagram Widget PRO v2 now supports connection to multiple Instagram accounts along with more display customization options.
Extended WordPress Buzz 🔥
- Dealing with Troubles… the ClassicPress project (WordPress without the Gutenberg) is going through turbulent times with the resignation of directions and possibly lack of funding (and even user adoption). Also, in case you haven’t read enough of WordPress aka Matt VS GoDaddy, here is a response from GoDaddy, “We All Have the Same Goal” – thankfully!
- Still Brewing… Remember Genesis Framework? Here is WPEngine explaining its commitment to the open web in the context of the current and future forms of the Genesis Framework. Also, the proposal for adding WebP image support is still on track with a revised approach and multiple MIME support.
- Launch & Acquisition … there is a new podcast called Memberships and Courses hosted by Micah Mitchell and Tracy Childers from the WishList Member plugin team. Also, Raidboxes hosting provider has been acquired by team blue which already has a number of hosting brands and services like Iubenda, Webnode, and DanDomain.
- Let’s Learn… check this detailed tutorial to create a background shape generator that will work on the core Gutenberg cover block. Also, do want to use the WordPress command-line interface (WP-CLI) to its full potential? Here is Erik Torsner with the guide to explain the WP-CLI Command Structure.
- Upcoming WordCamps… the call for Sponsors is now open for WordCamp Asia 2023 which is scheduled to be held on Feb 13, 2023, at Bangkok, Thailand. In a blink and miss, WordCamp US 2022 tickets got sold out in just a few mins – as there is a cap of 650 attendees as against the usual of 2000.
Quick Bits 👍

Themeisle team has launched the PRO version of the Otter Blocks Plugin. Besides the advanced block features, it also has WooCommerce Builder Blocks, block visibility conditionals, and the dynamic data functionality is coming soon.
Also, caught my attention this week are these two plugins, the Smart Blocks plugin from HashThemes and the Exclusive Blocks plugin from the DevsCred team.
