- New Projects for WP Users… Lawrence Ladomery has launched the WP BizDev job board website focussing on sales and marketing roles for WordPress businesses. While Kathy Zant and Michelle Frechette have launched WP Motivate podcast for a smiling start to your work week with WordPress friends.

- Acquisition & Beyond WordPress… Ionut Neagu from the Themeisle (CodeInWP) team has acquired the popular tutorial website WP Shout from Fred and David, who originally acquired it from Alex Denning in 2013. While one of my favorite creators in the WordPress (and Beaver Builder) space, David Waumsley is looking beyond WordPress and towards Jamstack – interesting!
- Faster WP 6.1 & More… Jonny Harris shared about massive improvement to database performance in WordPress 6.1 courtesy of his five years old ticket now a reality – allowing caching of database queries in WP_Query. Also, the WordPress 6.1 Beta 2 download is now available for your testing.
- Oh WordPress… Jon Brown pointed out that WooCommerce now displaying Payments as a top-level menu in the WordPress dashboard, even when WooCommerce Payments is ‘not’ installed on the website. While Mark Zahra highlighted the growing trend of deceptive marketing in the WordPress ecosystem.
- Oh WordPressers… a live discussion episode had many people stand up and take notice. Tom Finley explained it exhaustively in a post titled “Racism is a Weed”. While Nyasha Green at MasterWP explained further with more context and examples.
- State of WordPress… HTTP Archive’s annual state of the web report 2022 edition has been published, covering WordPress. So, almost 3 out of 4 websites built with a CMS are using WordPress. Also, WordPress adoption is growing significantly in all the top countries.

New WordPress Plugins Stash!
Scott Kingsley Clark has released a new plugin Sticky Admin Menu that allows you to see that page’s menu item at the very top of the menu irrespective of which page you are on. While the WP Extended plugin looks like a handy collection of small but useful features for WordPress users.
Also, I noticed the new CubeWP plugin – a new entrant in the space for registering custom post types, custom fields, custom taxonomies, and managing dynamic data on the WordPress website.
