  • Product Updates… Page Builder Framework theme 2.6.7 added an option to display featured images on pages in the front end and Brizy support for custom sections feature. FluentCRM 2.0.2 got a new WooCommerce product refund trigger for automation to find refund reasons or give a discount to win back customers.
  • Advanced Blocks… the ability to display post title or custom field value aka dynamic data is the next big thing in the blocks ecosystem. Stackable has introduced dynamic data features including support for ACF and Toolset. Also, check the free multicollab plugin that allows Google Docs style commenting in the blocks editor.
  • WP eCommerce… add a quick view to WooCommerce store products with the new ultimate quick view plugin by David Vongries (this feature was also added to PBF theme). EU VAT plugin for EDD by barn2 team now has full UK VAT support, so just like people in the EU, UK customers can get their VAT reverse charged.

Extended WordPress Buzz 🔥

  1. WP Ecosystem… Rachel Cherry alerted why the WordPress community should pay attention to what’s going on in the Rails community right now. Also, for supporting underrepresented people and projects in the WordPress ecosystem, Yoast’s diversity fund is back. Applications are open till May 31, 2021, with possible funding of up to $5000 per project.
  2. New Podcasts… WP Owls kicked off the debut podcast episode on how to encourage people for contributing to WordPress featuring Birgit Pauli-Haack and Greg Ziółkowski. While WooCommerce users can look forward to a new podcast eCommerce Unscripted, Mastering WooCommerce from SkyVerge and GoDaddy team.
  3. Core Updates… WebP image format support being added to the next WordPress 5.8 release. Jetpack 9.7 plugin now allows the use of a few features without connecting to the WordPressDOTcom login like stats, contact form, and CDN.
  4. Classic Editor… users (and users of the classic editor plugin) take note of this new classic widgets plugin that disables the new and upcoming blocks based widget system, which is scheduled to be launched in the WordPress 5.8 version.
