- First Big WordPress… release of 2022 is here, WordPress 5.9 “Josephine” adds to the foundation of full site editing allowing full website control, much needed navigation block, and much requested more block control options. This has been made possible by 624 generous volunteer contributors and 370 tickets on Trac.
- Three Big Releases… per year could be the norm going forward. As indicated by this proposal, after WordPress 5.9 release, there will be two more big releases this year – 6.0 in late May and 6.1 in mid October. A good direction for sure!
- The Next WordPress… version 6.0 details are already here. Check the preliminary roadmap of the next WP 6.0 that will focus on making the editor experience better for template browsing, introduce page patterns for page creation, and improvement in design tools.
