What’s Buzzing in WordPress 💖
- WP Niche Projects… Derek Ashauer has launched the WPShowOff directory website listing user-submitted beautiful websites made with WordPress. While the HeroPress Network has launched the WP Photos Info project that shares stories behind the photos of WordPress that come from the WP Photos project.
- New Geeky Features… Gravity Forms users can now implement advanced save and continue feature with auto-saving, auto-loading, and draft management functionality. Also, the team at The Events Calendar has launched the Event Automator plugin, promising a quick and easy connection between The Events Calendar and Zapier – among other triggers and automation.
- Product Updates… SureCart is brewing the first version of conditional forms that allows adding a conditional container in your forms and add the checkout components to enable the show or hide based on some condition. While Otter v2.2 has added Stripe Block to sell a couple of products without setting up a whole store and the Live Search feature that enhances the core block search.

- WP Ecosystem… Josepha asked if “we did another women / nonbinary-led release for WordPress 6.4?”. For sure, and no wonder a lot of positive replies. Also, WordPress(.)com has introduced browse mode feature that provides an easy way to explore and edit website’s templates and template parts. To get such features (for now) on self-hosted WordPress, install the Gutenberg plugin.
- Dev Focus… earlier installation of only the free ACF plugin with Composer was possible, but now composer support for installing ACF PRO (premium version) is available. Also, looking at the automated performance monitoring in WordPress core to identify and resolve issues with less effort.
- Acquisition Train… the UpdraftPlus team has acquired WP Overnight which specializes in WooCommerce store plugins. Beyond the WordPress ecosystem, Netlify has acquired Gatsby Inc. – creators of the open-source framework Gatsby.
