- Roadmap to 6.9 Release… WordPress 6.9 version is scheduled for release on December 2, 2025. The WP 6.9 roadmap highlights the focus areas like simplified site editing option that centers content editing, expanded template management, the ability to hide blocks, block level commenting, command palette, and more.
- Plugin README in English… David Perez shared about the decision to ask authors to provide the plugin information in readme .txt in English language. It will help in effective communication, and English will serve as the base for translating plugins into different languages.
- Stats from Plugin Team… Francisco Torres shared the latest stats from the plugin team. Out of 282 submissions, 118 plugins were approved, 31 plugins were rejected, and 108 plugins were closed. Also, there are over 2481 plugins in the queue.

- Gutenberg Update… Aki Hamano shared about the 21.3v of Gutenberg update that focuses on DataViews enhancements, like the grid layout of DataViews now support grouping items by fields. Also, the Cover block supports the poster image, allowing you to display a preview image before the video loads.

2025 mid-year WordPress Vulnerability Report
Oliver Sild from Patchstack summarized (Links X) the current state of vulnerabilities in the WordPress space. In 6 months, 6,700 new vulnerabilities in the WordPress ecosystem, “41% are exploitable in real-life attacks. Meaning: they can be weaponized right now”.
Out of this, 57.6% of all vulnerabilities can be exploited by complete outsiders. “No access barriers for attackers. These vulns can be used in fully automated, large-scale attacks”. Grab the full report at the Patchstack website.
