Automattic vs WP Engine: Latest Developments
Automattic shared about filing counterclaims against WP Engine. It was shared, “In counterclaims filed today against WP Engine, Automattic very clearly lays out its allegations about how a high-profile private equity firm made a bad bet and then inflated the value of WP Engine as a way to continue to collect management fees and to obscure their mistake”.
Rae Morey from ‘The Repository’, elaborated further, “The WordPress Foundation and WooCommerce have joined Automattic and Matt Mullenweg in countersuing WP Engine, accusing the hosting company of trademark infringement, false advertising, and unfair competition in a court filing that puts WP Engine’s use of the WordPress and WooCommerce trademarks under scrutiny”.
