- WP Gems Project… Andrew, founder of ABC Stats, has launched the WP Gems project, inspired by Nick’s Hidden Gems post. It is a fully automated way to surface low-install, highly rated plugins, using a simple scoring pipeline rather than hand curation. - Three WP Releases in 2026… Jonathan Desrosiers published notes from the Core Committer meeting held on November 25, 2025. “The main point to underscore out of this discussion is that the intention in 2026 is to return to a cadence of 3 major releases per year”. Also, discussions on possible features for WP 7.0, raising the minimum required PHP version to 7.4, and more.
- Yoast & Microsoft… Yoast has announced a collaboration with NLWeb, the open framework developed by Microsoft for making web readable and usable by AI systems. “Through this integration, Yoast will become one of the first organizations to help websites built on WordPress communicate directly with AI agents in a consistent, privacy respecting way”.
- WordPress RC3 Update… WordPress 6.9 Release Candidate 3 is now available for testing. You can check Gutenberg commits and Core Trac tickets for issues addressed in RC3 compared to RC2 version. The final WordPress 6.9 is scheduled for December 2, 2025, along with the annual State of the Word event.
- WooCommerce 10.4 Release… Shani Banerjee shared pre-release updates for WooCommerce 10.4, highlighting important features and changes. WooCommerce 10.4 Beta 2 is scheduled for December 1, 2025, and the final WooCommerce 10.4 release is scheduled for December 9, 2025.
- WordCamp Asia Wapuu… the team at WordCamp Asia 2026 (Mumbai, India, April 9-11, 2026), has opened the call for Wapuu Design submissions. You can submit an entry until January 15, 2026, and winners will be announced on February 1, 2026.
