- Amelia Business App… the team at Amelia has released a dedicated mobile app for Amelia admins and employees, the Amelia Business App is available for both iOS and Android users. It allows you to view your full list of appointments and events, update appointment and event statuses, and more.
- AG Pay Links… going beyond WooCoomerce, Aaron Bowie has released AG Pay Links – a new iOS app that lets merchants create and share secure payment links using the payment provider they already have. Plugins: CSS Guardrail, Scrutoscope, Media, & FlipBook
CSS Guardrail… Nick Laux has shared the new CSS Guardrail, a WordPress plugin, ‘built around a problem I ran into myself: one small CSS edit on a live site caused a much bigger mess than expected’. It scans CSS changes made through the Theme File Editor and Additional CSS, flags potential problems, and blocks high-risk edits before they can damage the site.
Scrutoscope… Kurt Payne shared (LinkedIn) about the free Scrutoscope Performance Profiler for WordPress users. It profiles a page request, traces hook callbacks, and attributes time back to the source: plugin, theme, core, mu-plugin, or drop-in. It also shows database queries, HTTP calls, autoloaded options, assets, and the hook execution trace.

- Community Collective Rebrands… The WP Community Collective has changed its name to The WP Open Community Collective (the WPOCC), “to reflect its broader mission to support contributors across the open source ecosystem”. Also, “On July 2, Reed unintentionally discovered the WordPress Foundation’s pending trademark application for the acronym “WPCC”. We’d rather make this change now, on our own terms, than wait for a problem we can clearly see coming”.
- Gutenberg + New Blocks… 23.6v update makes Playlist and Tabs blocks stable, now part of the default block library. The notes feature gets inline notes, allowing you to attach a note to a specific text selection rather than to a whole block. Also, autocomplete makes it possible to direct a note at a specific person.
- Accessibility Theme Reviews… The WordPress Accessibility Team released accessibility-ready theme guidelines in May. The deadline for accessibility-ready theme reviews has been extended to September 30, 2026, giving more time for changes.
- WordCamp US Buzz… WordCamp US is offering a bookable recording studio in Phoenix, sponsored by WordPress .com, for creators, influencers, podcasters, and anyone interested in recording content in a customizable on-site recording space. Also, new made in WordPress marketplace is making a debut at the WordCamp US 2026 event.

WordPress 7.1 Beta 3 is now available for download and testing. Beta 3 introduces improvements to styling, like applying local style changes globally is no longer an all-or-nothing action. The final release date for WordPress 7.1 is August 19, 2026.
