- Defensive Data Design… Matt Mullenweg shared a list of points emphasizing that in the AI driven world, deletion or irreversible actions should be hard compared reversible actions. Like putting something in the trash should be easy; deleting should be very hard. Proposing a draft should be easy; publishing to the world should be hard.
- AI Trust Ladder… Jason Adams has opened a discussion on a trust ladder concept currently being discussed internally at Automattic, and how it might apply to WordPress Core. The idea is to define four levels of trust (plus a zero/kill-switch level) that describe how much autonomy an AI agent has been given, similar in spirit to WordPress user roles (subscriber through administrator).
- Gutenberg + Improvements… 23.7v includes many improvements over features added in the 23.6v update. This feature updates to the Block Editor, the new Gallery block’s dynamic mode, user control to enable the Global Styles inheritance UI, and a series of smaller visible editor layout fixes.
- WordPress Credits Feedback… Isotta Peira shared about the first comprehensive analysis of student feedback since the WordPress Credits program was launched. Based on responses of 242 students, it revealed – the program works, resources and multiple handbooks are overwhelming, choosing a contribution is the least clear moment, 50-hour track builds skills, but not community ties.
- WordCamp Switzerland Moved… WordCamp Switzerland was originally scheduled for September 11 and 12, 2026, it will now take place on March 5 (Contribution Day) and March 6, 2027, at Centre Loewenberg, Murten / Morat. Due to the year change, the site URL changed from 2026 to 2027, all links shared before July 16, 2026, will redirect to the home page in English.

Divi + Smart Search… Nelson Miller has added a new Smart Search Matching feature in the Divi Search Helper plugin. It improves search relevance by filtering weak keyword matches and prioritizing more meaningful results.
FluentSMTP + Everyday Check… 2.3.0v makes FluentSMTP check every connection once a day, if there is a failure, you see it on the dashboard, and you get a message. Also, now it connects natively to Cloudflare Email Sending through their REST API.
